In July 2005, I took my very first trip out West when I made my very first visit to the Holy Grail of pop culture fandom -- "Comic Con International" in San Diego, California.
And I took "Rafi" along for the ride.
The event ran 7/14 to 7/17, but I didn't attend the first day, nor the Preview Night on 7/13 -- I was still working on 7/13, and, while I did plan to attend Comic Con the night I came in on 7/14, a lengthy rain delay in Houston scotched that idea.
